Troop 384 meets at Retta Baptist Church on Monday nights from 7 PM till 8:30 PM. Retta Baptist Church is located in Rendon, 3 miles south of CR 1187 on Rendon Rd, in Rendon, Texas

Since the trailers cannot be unloaded because of the rain (and because everyone is also probably tired) there will be no meeting tonite.

I hope everyone enjoyed the time off for Spring Break!

Summer Camp this year will be at Spanish Peaks Scout Ranch near Walsenburg, CO. It's a beautiful place and a great chance for the Scouts to work on Merit Badges, log some camping nights, and have a great time. Older Scouts (14 yrs and up) have the option to go on a High Adventure trek.

Dates: June 19-27, 2010 (includes travel time to camp)

Cost: Base Camp (regular) $180/Boy Scouts $115/Adult Leaders

High Adventure: $225/Participant (including adults)

Travel fees: To Be Determined ($50-$90)

The full fee for camp is due by Monday, April 12. The travel fees (to cover gas for the 2 vans) will be due in June. It was announced to the boys (repeatedly) that $60 deposits were due each month (Feb, March, and April) but we realize that this information may not have reached the appropriate people (parents). If you would like to pay some of it tonight and the rest by April 12, that is fine. You can turn money in to Missy Gudal or Jeff Borg. Be sure to write "summer camp" on the memo line of your check.

Spanish Peaks SR requires the use of a specific Medical form which is posted below. A Physical is required. We have found it helpful to bring all school and sports forms that will be required when school starts to the appointment to save time and money. Some doctors/clinics charge a small fee for the extra forms, but it is still cheaper than getting another physical in August :)

Merit Badge sign-up info will be posted here as soon as it becomes available.

"Recharter" is the Council's term for when the Troop renews its membership with the Council. What this means to you: you need to be registered for another year with the Troop. The cost is $30 for Scouts and $15 for Adults. If you are currently a member (Scouts and/or Adults), I will not need any additional paperwork, just the money.

Please make checks payable to Troop 384 and turn them in to me. The deadline is Monday, Nov 30 but the sooner you can get it to me the better.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Missy

Come one come all to the Annual Planning Meeting for Troop 384. We need all Scouts and parents to give us input on events for the upcoming year.

Lunch will be provided. The Scouts will break for swimming after lunch.

The flyer and map are posted below.

SEE YOU ALL THERE!

Join us Monday night, August 10 at 7:00 pm as we recognize the Scouts for all their hard work these past months.

The purpose of the Court of Honor is for families and Troop members to recognize and celebrate the awards/ranks that the boys have earned since the last Court of Honor (January). For those of you who were Cub Scouts, it is similar to a Pack Meeting although held less often. Please make every effort to attend even if you/your son are new to Scouts.

The "Kriesman's Camp" is located on the Brazos river (in Horseshoe bend)
7140 River Trail, Weatherford, Texas
We have a large fire pit, and removable cooking grate, by the river
Tents sites available in the flat wooded area.
Running water, and electricity available, at the picnic area. Port-a-potty will be on hand.
Most likely will see deer at some point. (Don’t be surprised if deer, or turkeys, come thru camp.)
(Please excuse the four campers, on site, but one will available for an emergency)

The tent will NOT be taken down tonight (4-27). See you at the Troop Meeting at 7 pm!

This is a great chance to work on merit badges, get those camping nights logged, and have a good time!

July 19-25, 2009
Hale Scout Reservation

Cost: $180/Scouts $115/Leaders
The first payment ($90/Scouts or $57.50/Leaders) was due in March.
The final payment (or full payment if no deposit has been made) is due April 20.

Medical Forms: The BSA has updated their medical forms, they are posted here. For summer camp, all campers (regardless of age) are required to have parts A, B, and C completed on the BSA forms each year. A copy of a previous physical will no longer be accepted. If you will need a physical for school/sports requirements, be sure to bring the BSA forms to the doctor along with the school forms (the clinics we have gone to have completed both sets of forms for us as long as we let them know when we check in).

MERIT BADGE INFO: Below is the link for the list of Merit Badges which will be offered this summer. All scouts attending Camp Hale this summer need to choose which merit badges they would like to register for. THIS WILL BE COVERED IN DETAIL AT THE APRIL 20, 2009 TROOP MEETING - please plan to attend so we can make sure each scout gets signed up for the badges he needs.
